JUDE
1Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to
them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called: While
Malachi was writing about the conditions prior to the first coming of Christ and through the principle of Duality also had
a strong reference to the conditions before the second coming; Jude was directly addressed to the “Called” of
the New Covenant
2Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
3Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me
to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
Jude tells us that we must
earnestly contend [VIGOROUSLY FIGHT] for our faith and salvation in this latter day. Our faith and salvation are under very
strong and subtle attack. We need to remember Satan’s subtlety in the garden, where sin was made so desirable in appearance
and the logic to partake seemed so reasonable; that Eve was tempted to obey Satan [have faith in Satan] instead of obeying
and having faith [trusting] in God.
Our faith in God is under attack, through the temptation to take the easy way; through the temptation
to sit back and let others work out our salvation; through the temptation to just sit back and depend on the institution,
or the leader instead of personal diligent effort. We are being tempted to follow someone or some organization instead of
being diligently faithful to our God. “Just do what the elder says and you have it made.” Personal responsibility
has been replaced with relying on men instead of on God and our personal relationship with him.
4For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning
the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
It was ordained in the beginning
that God would allow wicked men to enter into the congregations: to TEST his people. Ungodly wicked men who would pervert
the grace of God into a license to continue in sin. Who would say “God is love” and he will forgive us if we fudge
on Sabbath or in any commandment; for he understands and loves us.
Yes, God is love; therefore he will not excuse continued sin. Yes, he is
love and he will rejoice at every sinner who truly repents and CHANGES his ways, becoming a zealous DOER of the commandments.
God loves the sinner and that is precisely why he will NOT tolerate sin; because sin destroys the sinner whom God loves.
The Eternal is sifting his
people! Christ wants to know who he can trust to obey him and his Father, zealously; regardless of the temptation to do otherwise.
He is watching us and selecting those who HE wants to be a part of a faithful, loving, cooperative, supportive and yes, Obedient
Wife; for himself.
The Father and the Son want to know: can they trust you? Will you love and cherish them beyond all else, and
above anyone and anything else?
The Pearl of Great Price is well worth fighting [contending] for, sacrificing for and suffering
for!
As Daniel’s friends said: Our God can save us; if he chooses not to [physically]; we shall gladly die
serving him and NO other!
5I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once
knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
We have forgotten God’s
power and his Mighty Strength and make excuses for our sin; instead of relying on that Great Power. It is easier to make excuses
than it is to have FAITH in the “Mighty One Who Inhabits Eternity”. We have been focusing on our troubles and
on the men and organizations that we adore and have lost sight of our Great God!
We have been zealous for corporations, popes
and men; and have not been focusing on the Eternal, we have obeyed the corporate leaders as if they were speaking with God’s
mouth; and have lost sight of God. We have allowed men and corporations to come between us and the Father of the Universe
and so have lost our faith in him.
These men have used the word “God” to get brethren to focus on themselves, to aggrandize
and enrich themselves; and they have not focused the brethren on the Eternal; Therefore we have lost our faith in him and
our faith is in another.
We buy food and drink on Sabbath because some man said it was all right. Is a man God;
that we should obey him and not the scriptures? Will this man judge us and not Almighty God out of God’s Books?
Acts 4:19 But
Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God,
judge ye.
6And the angels which kept not their first estate, but
left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
7Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication,
and going after strange flesh [homosexuality], are set
forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
