There are many articles going into detail regarding the various impending events in the Middle East and Europe throughout our site.  This article is meant to be a concise overview of the events leading up to the start of the tribulation, putting all these threads together and demonstrating how they relate to one another.  For specifics on different subjects it will be necessary to visit the appropriate articles.

The Scriptures tell us that the tribulation will not come until a declaration of peace and safety has been made, 1 Thes 5:3;  a New Order arises in Europe, Rev 13:11-15;  and the final false prophet visits the Holy Place, Mat 24:15-21.

Obviously present conditions are not amenable to a declaration of peace and safety. The Media have been ringing their hands over an unending and unwinnable war on terror; and the various Church of God Groups have jumped on that bandwagon: even declaring that Islamic Extremism will grow and eventually become the Biblical King of the South.

For the past three years TheShiningLight has stood alone in declaring that a major regional war will break out in the Middle East and that Israel with her allies will DEFEAT Hamas and Hezbollah.  I have also written that the Revolutionary Guard in Iran will be degraded enough to permit a regime changing revolution in that nation.

These events; coupled with a government coalition change in Israel will reset the Mideast situation; permitting a genuine dialogue for peace to take place.

Such a war will threaten the Strait of Hormuz and petroleum shipments; creating an economic crisis which will ultimately result in a New International Economic Order. This new system will replace the dollar as the international reserve currency with a new artificial international currency.  This will insulate the world’s nations from any economic dislocation likely to be caused by any future collapse of the dollar.  And will allow for the economic supremacy of Europe after the demise of the United States.

The recent apparent rejection of EU membership for Turkey by the EU has prompted the Islamic party now ruling Turkey to strike out in a new direction: seeking leadership of the Islamic World.  In order to seek the support of the Islamic masses; Turkey has chosen support for Gaza as its; cause celeb.  The recent Flotilla raid by Israel has succeeded in dividing Israel and Turkey. It has also succeeded in dividing Turkey from the pro American governments remaining in Europe; especially the economic core of Europe: Germany and France.

However, the attempt to break the Gaza siege has captivated the Islamic world and made Turkey the champion of large numbers of Muslims. Turkey will continue to work to consolidate this position in hopes of regaining some of the prestige that they had during the Ottoman Empire.  With the demise of Iran as the leader of Islamic Extremism; Turkey will arise as the leading Islamic nation once again.

When the coming war with its attendant economic problems breaks out; the Islamic masses of Europe, joined by peace activists and those worst affected by the economic realities; will take to the streets: resulting in political upheaval in Europe and putting intolerable stress on NATO and the EU.  This will open the way for the final false prophet to come on the scene and call for a New Europe.

This false prophet will continue for 1,335 days; and about 75 days after he has been set up; he will visit the Holy Place, peace and safety will be declared and the time of Jacob’s Trouble will commence.  This period of 1,260 days is the Times of the Gentiles mentioned by Christ, Luk 21:24; and in Daniel 12:7.

I will list these events:

1.        A Mideast war breaks out and Islamic Extremism is defeated, the Iranian regime is changed; and a genuine peace dialogue begins.

2.       Pro American governments in Europe are shaken and forced to reset policy or thrown out.

3.       Political and economic chaos in Europe.

4.       Turkey assumes leadership of the Islamic world [except Egypt].

5.       A religious leader of great power calls for a New Europe, offering solutions.

6.       The New Europe sends peace keepers to enforce any peace deal.

7.       Ultimately, Israel will be unable to implement the deal, due to her own Extremists.

8.       A clash between peace keepers and Israelis when the false prophet goes to the Holy Place; results in full hostilities between the new Europe and Israel.

9.       Turkey leads the Islamic world [excluding Egypt] to support the New Europe; the "King of the North", Psalm 83.   In Scripture Turkey is Esau and is called:  Edom or Mount Seir.  A major prophecy regarding Turkey is contained in the Book of Obadiah.

10.   Egypt, Israel and their allies  [America and Britain]  being the true King of the South are overcome, Dan 11:40-43. This begins the Great Tribulation, Rev 11:2.

11.   The Great Tribulation is called: The Times of the Gentiles [Luk 21:24, context Luk 21:20-25] or The Time of Jacob’s Trouble: and will last for 1,260 days, ending with the coming of Messiah.
