A Letter: To Robert Thiel

An Open letter: To Robert Thiel

3 JAN 2010

When I first began publishing on 8 Jul 2007 I wrote to Robert informing him of the launching of my site and asking him to provide me with any Bible based comments that he might want to make.  He responded by saying that he was not interested in reading anything that he knew he would disagree with.

How did he know that he would disagree, if he did not read the material?  The words of Solomon come to mind. Pro 18: 13: He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him. And I quoted these words to him.  Obviously, he condemned me simply because I was not a part of his group.  I also asked him: Why when he was in a position to correct error, did he refuse to correct what he regarded as error? Where was his love for others, or for the truth?  Why does he study the prophecies and prognostications of the ancient Mayas and so many others?  Does he agree with them?  Does Robert support the human sacrifice of the Maya, or the witchcraft of Nostradamus?  He has time to study these, but no time to study papers on the Word of God?

Every year I  do a count back from a Festival date, of the periods of days in Dan 12 and then say that that is a possible or likely date for the abomination to be set up. In 2008 I stated that a certain day in Oct 2008 would be the earliest possible day for the setting up of the abomination; IF that was going to be the time.  I have never said that any year must be the one and only year.  I do this count back every year.

Although I set no date, Robert claimed that I had done so and that I was a false prophet.  When I asked him why he published such a thing; since I had NEVER claimed to be a prophet or any such thing and I had asked him for his help; which he refused: he responded that anyone who makes any prediction that failed was a false prophet.

During an email exchange Robert did say a few things which provoked me into responding inappropriately and saying that I thought that something would happen in one or two years; That was wrong, although it was said in what was believed to be a private email and was most certainly not published by me.   Robert has published that email which was written in a heated response to a provocation by him, as evidence that I was setting false dates. Except for that momentary slip in a private discussion, several years ago,[which was a lesson well learned]  I have never said any such thing.  I have certainly been very careful to say [and I do believe] that the end WILL NOT come until ALL the Biblical signs are present.  We shall know these things by the signs of the times.  In 2011 the abomination could possibly be set in on or near 28 Sep 2011

I then asked him if that included Herbert Armstrong; who had made many failed prophecies in “the name of the Lord’ and who had claimed to be a prophet in his early days.  He took down his post and accusation concerning me without a retraction or correction.  In fact I had NOT made any prediction, only pointed out a possibility; and I had certainly not said anything in “the name of the Lord”

I continued to point out possibilities through 2009. Robert continued to bear false witness by claiming that I was setting failed dates.  I have NEVER published, that anything MUST happen on any date.  I have always only pointed out possibilities and have always made that very clear.  Nevertheless I apologized in 2008 lest anyone had misunderstood me, as I thought that Robert had.   Now I know better.  I believe that Robert did not misunderstand me at all; rather he is deliberately bearing false witness.

During this time, he told me that I had to be wrong because I was contrary to certain ancient Roman Catholic and Mayan prophecies.  I warned him that by relying on the false teachings of ignorant men and not on God’s word; he would be led astray.

He has developed a prophetic scenario for which he can find little Biblical support; therefore he seeks out support from pagan astrologers; something that Christians are forbidden to do.  Deu 18:9 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire,  or
that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11: Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.  We are NOT to seek these people out, nor are we to listen to them.

COMMENT
It is quite clear that Robert Thiel who runs a blog at: cogwriter; has thrown the Bible into a blender with every pagan prophecy he could find and created an appalling atrocity against the word of God.   Robert tries to interpret the Bible prophecies by melding all this mishmash together.  Vainly leaning on the fevered imaginations of God defying men, he has gone very far astray.

There are those who become so infatuated with a belief in their own wisdom and are so proud of their supposed intelligence that they become fools regarding the things of God, for they do not rely on God to explain His own ways; instead they rely on their own imaginations and the imaginations of the heathen. Rom 1:21: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Such an attempt to learn and apply the ways of the heathen; would be condemned by God's Word as Spiritual Adultery, for we are to rely ONLY on the Word of Almighty God and NOT on the traditions of the heathen, Jer 10: 1: Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: 2: Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven (which are used for prophesy); for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3: For the customs of the people are vain.

Robert is setting an ABSOLUTELY CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF COMMITTING SPIRITUAL ADULTERY WITH JEZEBEL. Rev 2:20: Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess (a false church teaching FALSE prophecy), to teach (falsehoods like the Primacy of Peter which Robert also teaches) and to seduce my servants to commit fornication (with other gods), and to eat things sacrificed unto idols (internalize false teachings). 21: And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 22: Behold, I will cast her [Jezebel] into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her [I will cast] into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23: And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

Any man who relies on extra biblical and especially on pagan religions for his understanding of any part of God's Word and teaches others to do so: IS A  FALSE PROPHET
; SO SAYS THE WORD OF GOD, Deu 13 the whole chapter.  He IS NOT TO BE RESPECTED OR TRUSTED. HE IS TO BE TREATED LIKE ANY OTHER FALSE PROPHET.

To interpret God’s word through pagan eyes; is to attempt to marry godliness with the doctrines of demons. God will not hold such people guiltless.

People who do these things should quickly REPENT; before Almighty God brings down the penalty of a false prophet upon them.  Friends DO NOT depend on the prophecies of; Law rejecting, Commandment hating, Ignorant men: who are not subject to God and cannot know the things of God. They are blind to the truth of God; for they lack the Spirit that leads into all truth Joh 16:13. Do not depend on the teachings of false religions and the deceivers who use such teachings to entice you away from the Word of God.

This man should remember that any man who adds the teachings of the pagans to the word of God; will not be held guiltless. And any man who adds pagan teachings to the book of Revelation will suffer the plagues thereof. Revelation 22:18-19

The above book review beginning with the book's title was published on 23 September 2009

Hear the Word of the Lord!

2 Kings one, “Then Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab. And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber (that is he was up on the second floor which) which was in Samaria, and he was sick: (he was injured) and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease. But the angel of the Eternal said to Elijah, the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? Now therefore thus saith the Eternal, Thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but thou shalt surely die. And Elijah departed.

In verse five,
“And when the messengers returned back unto the king, he said to them: Why are ye now turned back? And they said unto him, There came a man up to meet us and said unto us, Go, turn again unto the king that sent you and say to him. Thus saith the Eternal, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that thou sendest to inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? Therefore thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. And he asked them; what manner of person was he that came up to meet you, and told you these words? And they answered him, He was a hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.” The next few verses are something you can read yourself about some marvelous miracles that were performed by God to protect Elijah because the king was very angry with that man.

Now, verse 16, Elijah goes to the king
. “And he said to him, Thus, saith the Eternal, forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to enquire of his word? Therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but thou shalt surely die. And the king died according to the word of the Lord which Elijah had spoken. And Jehoram reigned in his stead in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son (no heirs).”

Now, notice very carefully. This king fell and was injured, was hurt, and he went to inquire of a foreign god rather than inquiring of the Eternal God, his own God. He is condemned by God through the prophet for doing this. There is absolutely nothing in this that has anything to do with physicians or healing. Notice this king is not sending for physicians.

There is nothing at all to do with medicine or physicians involved in the story. It is simply that this king is calling on foreign gods and is seeking input from foreign religions and strange religions and false prophets instead of standing on the things of God and on the Word of God.

If he had gone to the Eternal, if he had gone to God's true prophet Elijah, if he had done those things instead of relying on false prophets and seeking out foreign gods who are not gods at all, then he would have been respected by the Eternal God of Israel. We are commanded not to let anything come between us and our God. When we inquire of foreign gods or study the teachings of pagan religions, foreign religions, we are allowing those things to come between us and our God because we are offending our God when we try and graft paganism onto His Word, onto His religion, onto His teachings.

When we try and marry paganism to the Word of God, when we try and marry the prophets of
God rejecting, commandment-hating people; who have absolutely no understanding of the things of God; and we try and marry these doctrines of demons with the Word of God, God doesn’t like it. He gets very upset because we are adding lies to truth and creating a mixture which is going to lead us into disaster. We are saying, “I don’t trust the Word of God. I don’t trust God's Spirit to reveal these things to me. I don’t trust the Holy Scriptures. I need all of these other teachings of God rejecting, commandment-hating men to somehow confirm my beliefs.”

In other words, you are seeking after false prophets and you yourself, if you teach others to do that, have become a false prophet. We are not to seek out the teachings of the heathen. We are not to seek out the teachings and prophecies and guidance and wisdom of gods that are not gods, and are in fact, demons and we are not to seek them out, turning our back on the Word of God. That cannot be justified. We are not to study the pagan teachings, of pagan false religions that do not keep God's commandments and will not submit to the Eternal God.

That is spiritual adultery. That is consorting with foreign religions. That is not being faithful to our husband to whom we committed ourselves in the marriage relationship through our committment at baptism to the new covenant. That new covenant is a marriage relationship between us and our God, us and Jesus Christ. And if we then go and seek out all of these teachers of other doctrines and false religions and inquire of them, We are consorting with other gods and we are not being faithful to our baptismal covenant to our God, our husband.

This is adultery. It is emotional. It is mental. It is spiritual adultery; and as such it is disloyalty to our God, to our espoused husband. This is sin and our espoused husband and His Father will not take the matter lightly; we will be judged for doing such things. And the first part of the judgment is that false religions, and false teachers, and false prophets know nothing of the things of God; therefore, we would be learning false things and basing our beliefs on false things, and we would be led thoroughly astray and we would fall into the traps that these other people have fallen into. Satan has laid these traps and he's got these people deceived into believing what they believe. And if we consort with these religions and these false teachings, we will also fall into the same false teachings. We will be led astray; we will be deceived into error; and we will end up coming under the yoke of Satan again, the yoke from which we were delivered.

Going and inquiring of false gods amounts to seeking out their false teachings, their false religion, and it amounts to turning our backs on our God. That is the lesson of King Ahaziah. He was not seeking healing, he was inquiring of a strange god, a foreign god. That is what this is about. That is the lesson. Do not go and inquire of strange gods. Do not turn your back and be disloyal to the One to whom you have made your baptismal commitment. You are not to seek after strange gods nor to seek out and study their prophecies or their teachings.

We are to remain faithful and loyal to the Eternal and to the Holy Scriptures which He inspired. We are not to try and interpret the Holy Scriptures of God through the eyes of the heathen. We are not to try and understand the Holy Scriptures by mixing them up with prophecies and teachings of the heathen. That is the lesson here.

Brethren, it is a great sin to come up with some personal supposition and then not finding enough backing in the scriptures; to then go and seek out support for our pet ideas in the prognostications and teachings of astrologers and false teachers.  This is the sin that I have warned Dr Thiel against.  God’s Word is TRUTH; let us stand on the TRUTH of our God and not seek out the errors of wicked men.

Robert Thiel says that a final false prophet will make a seven year treaty involving Israel, which allows for the start of a Daily Sacrifice which will last for 3 ½ years. After which the treaty will be broken. That is his take on the 70 Weeks Prophecy.  For our position: see the 70 Weeks Prophecy, and the Daily Sacrifice.

This position is in direct contradiction to the Holy Scripture, for it is written
1 Thes 5: 2: For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3: For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

It is entirely possible that a seven year treaty will be made. It is even possible that an agreement to start sacrifices might be made.
Nevertheless that will be a GREAT DECEPTION; for when the declaration of Peace is made; sudden, immediate destruction will come: GOD SAID SO!!!

Please see the Signs Heralding the Tribulation page. The tribulation will not begin until all the Biblical signs are fulfilled; regardless of any date set by anyone
.

Relying on anything other than the Holy Scriptures is to rely on a deception that will result in personal destruction. FIRST: because we have turned away from God, and we are separated from him by this sin. SECOND: because these ignorant Commandment Defying men are themselves deceived and have become blind; leading the blind to their destruction.  If we follow the spiritually blind we shall surely fall into the same ditch.

When a man like Robert is so enamored with his pet ideas that he will seek support from the heathen astrologers of the Maya, and the false teachings of TRADITION, rather than be open to God’s word; when such a man is so enslaved by false concepts that he feels that he must lie about others to protect his position; he is in trouble.

I have no ill will toward Robert. I have extended the hand of friendship to him many times, only to be rejected and condemned.  Thousands who have read this site know that what I say is true. Robert, I ask only that you stop bearing false witness and that you turn back to exclusively relying on God’s IMMUTABLE WORD. Turn to him and He will accept you. Keep your back to him and he will correct you.  The choice is really yours alone.

Robert appears to have a fixation with the ancient Maya, Chinese Astrologers and other prognosticators that might appear to point to 2012 as an important date for the fulfillment of Biblical prophetic events.  Lets take a quick look at a some of these.

THE MAYA
The Maya used teams of four to hold the arms and legs of their victims while a fifth cut open the chest and tore the heart out of the screaming victim to offer to their gods.  On special occasions they indulged in even more brutal behaviour, literally skinning victims alive and watching them die.
Maya  Meanwhile the Mayan Long Calendar has been interpreted in various ways by the scholars. Some have deciphered its ending date to be anywhere between December 21 to December 27 in 2012. But others have calculated the end date to be either in 1957 or 2050. [Mervin Stoddart, "Will the world end in 2012?" The Jamaica Observer, October 25, 2008, www.jamaicaobserver.com, accessed on October 6, 2009.]

2012

The man who put 2012 on the map as a pivotal date for world history was José Arguelles, a Mexican-American, who authored a mystical book in 1987 titled The Mayan Factor.4 He was also instrumental that year in organizing a worldwide event called the Harmonic Convergence.5 During two days in August, people were urged to gather at sacred sites to awaken the "energy grid" of the world and thus initiate a 25-year era of spiritual growth that would culminate in 2012.

Since that time, a man by the name of Christian John Meoli has been organizing and conducting 2012 conferences that have the flavor of a Star Trek convention. He plans to hold the final conference on December 21, 2012 at the Mayan pyramids in Mexico. He describes 2012 as "the shift," and the slogan for his conferences is "Shift Happens."6

Meanwhile, the History Channel on television has promoted the 2012 craze with a zeal, broadcasting a whole series of programs focused on the date: "Mayan Doomsday Prophecy" (2006), "Last Days on Earth" (2006), "Doomsday 2012: The End of Days" (2007), "Seven Signs of the Apocalypse" (2009), and "Nostradamus 2012" (2009).

GALATIC ALIGNMENT
Regarding galactic alignment, again it appears that all the predictions of cataclysmic events are based on junk science. Academic astronomers have pointed out that the alignment will span a period of 36 years. That period began in 1998 with a convergence that was even more precise than what it will be in 2012, yet there have been no dire consequences

NOSTRADAMUS
The Nostradamus "prophecies" are hardly worth mentioning. This man was a demon possessed practitioner of witchcraft. His so-called prophecies are poetic quatrains that are so obtuse as to be unintelligible. They have therefore never been used to prophesy any event before it happens. Instead, the Nostradamus groupies apply a quatrain to an event after it happens, and even these applications require a vivid imagination. In fact, the writings of Nostradamus are often doctored to make them more applicable as "prophecies." There is nothing in any of his published writings that has reference to the year 2012.

THE BIBLE CODE
Drosnin's Bible Code prediction about the earth being annihilated in 2012 must be considered in reference to the fact that when he published his book in 1997 he claimed that the codes predicted a nuclear war in 2000 or 2006 and a comet strike on the earth in 2006. These events failed to take place

THE WEB BOT PROJECT
That leaves us with the Web Bot Project, which is the silliest bit of evidence that could possibly be presented. All this system does is catalogue the consensus Internet opinion on any given topic. It amounts to prophecy by majority opinion, and that opinion is derived from the Internet rumor mill!

You judge, whether it is better to stand on this foundation; or is it better to stand upon the word of God?  Acts 5:29

By the way that 2012 is being pushed by the Establishment Media, it would appear that they are preparing people for some dramatic event: Such as a big push for their desired New World Order.  This is an occult fixation and IS NOT SOMETHING GODLY!

<Anyone who dabbles in the occult like Robert WILL BE CARRIED AWAY AND DECEIVED>
